About this unique piece:
A cello that was built in best Mirecourt style around 1920. Visually wonderful, the relatively large ff holes, which reveal a large, voluminous tone when played, are striking. Remarkably, this 3/4 instrument can indeed compete with “full-grown” instruments. The comfortable string height and the aforementioned full sound give the cello a lightness that runs through all registers and positions. In the bass, the fullness is created by a remarkable wealth of overtones, in the highs, the melodies sound bright and clear.
This instrument is particularly suitable for advanced students who are changing to the 3/4 size and are likely to experience a significant boost in the development of their tone. Since the cello produces a full tone with grateful simplicity, it also eases the mastering of new musical challenges.
