About this unique piece:
Narrow growth rings, a one-piece maple back with an intriguing holographic effect, flawless workmanship and the resonant name Breton are only a few marks of high quality that this violin possesses.
François Breton, who set up his workshop in Mirecourt in the early 19th century, also helped establish Mirecourt as a location for the manufacture of stringed instruments. After he died in 1837, manufacturers began to produce violins under his brand, all of which were of high quality.
The faithfulness to the original design of François Breton is evident in this model: the choice of wood, the one-piece back, and the not unusual but rarely used pear wood purfling clearly speak to the instrument’s custom build.
The intensive tone and the bright sound of this instrument, in connection with the very good response, are an ideal companion for young musicians on their way to becoming professional musicians. Breton’s violins were considered tried and tested orchestral instruments.
