About this unique piece:

Lambert-Humbert frères was the second important large-scale industrial violin maker in Mirecourt in the 19th century. The catalogs include a never-ending variety of models, designs and quality levels. If the Mirecourt violin makers initially had difficulty matching the quality from Markneukirchen – the other major production site for musical instruments in Europe – this changed significantly as their history progressed; in some cases, the Mirecourt workshops even sourced their wood from Vogtland forests.

This student model impresses with a full, round tone. The sound is balanced and powerful in the lows, while a sometimes singing character can be discerned in the trebles. Here it is up to the player to bring out these nuances. The instrument is honest enough to reward this effort with a beautiful tone. It is undoubtedly a very
good violin for students who are switching to the 4/4 size.
