Simple Mirecourt Violin

Even if the violin label names Jean Francois Aldric, it is quickly recognizable as having been inserted later and pasted onto the original one. What this violin has in common with Aldric, however, is its “birthplace”: Mirecourt.

The sound tends towards the sonorous, the tone is powerful. The violin is earnest, direct and uncomplicated. The top is made of medium grained spruce, which has a crack that has been professionally repaired and does not create any tonal impairment.
