About this unique piece:

In addition to excellent models of his own, Jean Striebig also built according to old models, such as J. Stainer in this case. Despite the typical high arching this violin appears refreshingly slim, unlike many other violins. The wood was selected with great taste: the even growth rings of the spruce and the consistently flamed maple, together with the reddish-light brown varnish, produce a pleasing visual composition.

The violin’s tone is voluminous, as it usually is with Stainer’s form. In the sound, it enounces the invested energy – whether loud or quiet, gentle or demanding – very clearly and distinctly, which creates a very honest impression. The bright and singing character sweetens the ear’s listening experience. Jean Striebig’s work was very balanced here – not too much, not too little – and created a beautiful instrument.
